Robert L. Johnson

Dr. Robert Johnson is a professor in the Educational Studies Department at the University of South Carolina. Robert teaches courses related to assessment and his research focuses on studies related to the ethics of classroom assessment practices. He also studies methods to improve the scoring of performance assessments, including portfolios and essays. His research has been published in Written Communication, Assessing Writing, and Language Assessment Quarterly. He is co-author of Assessment Is Essential; Assessing Performance: Designing, Scoring, and Validating Performance Tasks; Assessment in the Literacy Classroom; and Put to the Test: Tools and Techniques for Classroom Assessment.
