Eva Brown began her educational career teaching second grade in 1996 in Somerville, Massachusetts. There, she initiated an after-school foundational literacy tutoring program for her most at-risk students. Subsequently, Eva taught fourth and fifth grade in Fairfax County, Virginia for five years and then moved to central Florida where she began teaching middle school intensive reading to the lowest 10% of students. Later, Eva served as a middle school literacy and instructional coach for five years, training teachers across content areas within her school and county on various reading intervention and literacy strategies and programs and serving on the county’s literacy leadership team for five years. She also spent three summers in China leading a team of teachers who taught English and instructional methodology to Chinese teachers. Eva has worked as a literacy consultant for seven years and a project manager for four of these years. She is highly regarded among her colleagues for exceptional service to teachers, coaches and leaders. Eva has degrees in elementary education, English, and theater, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching Reading and is certified to teach all content areas in grades K-9 as well as reading and ESOL in all grade levels.
