This workshop will unpack the assessment reports and guide you in setting goals and expectations for instruction and student outcomes while staying focused on the instructional cycle. Assess-Learn-Teach. Some of the questions we will explore are: After giving the first DRA2 assessment what did you learn about your students? What are your instructional next steps? What did you learn about the assessment? What questions do you have about the assessment and reports? What information did you use to set goals and expectations for your students? How will you be sure that the students are making adequate progress? How will you share this information with the families?

*this is a required session for all K5 teachers, First Steps directors are welcome to attend

Karen Miller has been working in education for 20 + years. During this time she has taught in all grades K-7, provided instructional coaching for many years in 2 large elementary schools and most recently, she began working at SCDOE where she supports statewide assessment and intervention planning. Karen has extensive experience with administration, analyzing data and planning instruction based on the data with many assessments including DRA2.
