By the end of this session, participants will be able to implement the 6-step DBQ Method so that students will become proficient in reading, comprehending, and writing clear arguments to support historical claims using valid reasoning while citing specific textual evidence, making inferences, and drawing conclusions about the relevance and connections between historical events using primary and secondary sources.

Alison has experience teaching all levels of secondary Social Studies, and has spent the majority of her teaching career in 7th grade Social Studies before taking a position as Dorchester Two's Middle School Social Studies Interventionist. After 4 years at that position, Alison has recently chosen to go back to her teaching roots, and is currently teaching Social Studies at River Oaks Middle School.
