Participants will learn how to create, evaluate, and assess students through the use of an interactive notebook all while keeping students actively engaged as they become responsible for their own learning.

I will share with participants:
  • Pros & Cons of the notebook How to evaluate & assess notebooks 
  • Time saving ideas Where & how to find additional support & resources 
  • Differentiation for students on all levels 
  • Encouraging learning through all learning styles 
  • Assisting struggling readers 
  • Encouraging student led research 
  • Assisting with student organizational skills

Courtney Harley is a 4th year teacher at LBC Middle School.  She currently teaches 8th grade Algebra I & SC History.  Ms. Harley was awarded Aiken County's Induction Teacher of the Year for 2012-2013!  Ms. Harley was introduced to the interactive notebook after spending weeks attempting different educational strategies to better teach struggling students.
