This session is designed to show teachers how they can create and implement meaningful reading and writing strategies in their social studies classrooms without increasing their workload. Outcomes include: Gain a better understanding of the importance of reading and writing strategies in the social studies classroom. Participating in literacy strategies that can be implemented in the classroom. Participation in a DBQ Project Mini-Q reading and writing task. Exploring DBQ internet resources that can be used in the classroom. (Two morning sessions: 90 minutes each)
