Participants will explore how two middle school ELA teachers use guided reading and small-group instruction to address the diverse instructional needs present in middle school ELA classrooms, including inclusion courses. The session will focus on using SRI data and the ACPS Literacy Model as cornerstones for planning and implementing guided reading/small-group instruction. At the end of the session, participants will be able to articulate a feasible plan for guided reading/small-group instruction, and participants will leave with resources and tools for implementing guided reading/small-group instruction in their classrooms. This session will feature strategies applicable to all content areas.
