When literacy is combined with the arts, engagement is high, and the sky is the limit! In this session, participants will be given various strategies to present reading, writing, and social studies content to students through arts integration.This session provides teachers with rigorous lessons that incorporate state standards and critical thinking skills with extraordinary visual art projects, and classroom ready arts integration strategies and resources. At the end of this session, participants will be able to provide students with quality vocabulary instruction, engaging literature that encourages critical thinking skills, and project based learning methods.

5th Grade ELA/S. Studies Teacher, East Aiken School of the Arts
Mrs. Green has been teaching for 13 years. She has experience teaching third, fourth, and fifth grade. She is a strong advocate for project based learning and arts integration. She was a recent presenter at the South Carolina Alliance for Arts Education Conference, and also teaches a Creative Writing Club at her school.
